Can I use this? I have an idea, and this is perfect for it.

Nice, Kung Fu AB. :) Although I wish you could work out on the colors and don't 100% color everything from the screenshot, this one now looks desaturated.

Thanks! I'm glad you like it.

Photoshop works with raster data which is is basically pixels on a grid. Illustrator uses vector data which consists of points and lines. Photoshop can simulate vectors with the pen tool but these are not true vectors.

I hope this very simplified explanation makes sense. (I'm sleepy and trying to explain something hurts.)

Hahaha wow thanks a lot I knew Photoshop uses Pixels and Illustrator uses True Vectorial Math and Formulas for "points and lines".

What I also want to know is..... are they really different? I don't want to spend a license on a software piece which I will not even know how to start using hahha :S

Honestly, it depends on what you're doing. If you work with vector data a lot, Illustrator is the way to go. There are many more tools available and the interface is designed to support it (Illustrator is made for vector data after all).

The best thing to do is get the trial and start messing around with it. Get a feel for it and check out what the tools do before you go spend the money on it.

Hope that was helpful.

My pleasure!

By the way, tablets don't really work with Illustrator, or rather, they do not have any added functionality like Photoshop does. Just thought I'd mention it in case you were hoping to use a tablet with Illustrator (I find my mouse does just fine).
